This standard applies to landscaping with plants. It defines the terms, establishes the classification of soils as well as the characteristics of seeds, and specifies the requirements related to surface preparation work, soils, land preparation work, to the work involved in preparing land, in applying sod, and establishing sod on prepared land, to the work involved in  preparing land and installing vegetative cover by seeding, to renovating all types of turf, to plant engineering techniques in naturalizing and stabilizing banks and slopes with cuttings, saplings, and seeds, to planting trees and shrubs, to maintaining woody plants, to planting annuals and perennials, and to landscaping work with mosaics.
