Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this standard is to provide information, guidelines and recommendations for improving processes common to cities, municipalities and public organizations in the field of public works maintenance and intervention in the Province of Quebec. The standard establishes best practices for the planning, maintenance, operation and safety of public works in the following areas: public buildings, infrastructure, engineering structures and underground infrastructure, residual materials, environment and sanitation, snow and precipitation, parks and green spaces, the power grid, public roads and municipal mechanical equipment.

The development of the standard is part of the recognition process undertaken by industry players to be recognized as first-rate professionals, in particular to pursue efforts to standardize public works processes and procedures common to all cities and municipalities in Quebec, through training, recognition and sharing of best practices in maintenance and intervention to ensure quality and environmental safety.
