Scope

This standard defines the requirements related to the specifications of an ambulance used to transport occupants, taking into account their comfort and safety.

It should be taken into account that ambulances shall comply with the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) under Transport Canada’s Motor Vehicle Safety Act and the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations.

This document was developed to serve as a reference document for conformity assessment activities of specific products.

NOTE — Conformity assessment is defined as the systematic examination of the extent to which a product fulfils specified requirements.
