Policy on cancellations, refunds and transfer

Classroom training

Refunds will be issued for cancellations of registrations for classroom training (i.e. training sessions occurring at a specific location, date and time) with the following limitations:

  • Requests to cancel registration must be received in writing at least thirty (30) days prior to the training date to receive a full refund of the registration fee.
  • Cancellation requests received in writing fewer than thirty (30) days but more than ten (10) days prior to the training date will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee.
  • Cancellations requests received fewer than ten (10) days prior to the training event are not eligible for reimbursement.
  • No refunds shall be issued for “No-shows” or participants who are not able to attend due to other circumstances outside the control of SCC (e.g. flight cancellation). Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are able to attend the session(s). 
  • If SCC cancels a session for any reason, SCC will fully reimburse all registration fees. If available, participants may instead transfer their registration to another training of equal or lesser value. Other expenses incurred by registrants (e.g. airfare, accommodation) will not be reimbursed. 


Virtual workshops

Refunds can be issued for cancellations of registrations for Virtual Workshops (i.e. online courses occurring at a specific date and time) with the following limitations:

  • Requests to cancel registration must be received in writing at least one (1) week, (7 calendar days) prior to the training date to receive a full refund of the registration fee.
  • Cancellations requests received fewer than seven (7) days prior to the training date are not eligible for reimbursement.
  • No refunds shall be issued for “No-shows” or participants who are not able to attend due to technical issues with audio, visual or internet connectivity. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their audio, visual and internet are in good working order. 

  • If the SCC cancels a session for any reason, the SCC will fully reimburse all registration fees. If available, participants may instead transfer their registration to another training of equal or lesser value. Other expenses incurred by registrants (e.g. airfare, accommodation) will not be reimbursed. 

     

Self-directed courses

  • SCC will refund course fees for self-directed online courses, so long as less than 25% of the course has been accessed, and no certificate has been issued.

  • SCC will not issue refunds for self-directed online courses if more than 25% of the course has been accessed, or if a certificate has been issued.

     

Transfers

  • Registrations in Classroom Training and Virtual Workshops may be transferred to another individual up to two (2) days prior to an event without additional fees.
  • Enrollment in self-directed courses may not be transferred.
