Proactive engagement and retention of young professionals in Canada’s standardization network is a key objective for the SCC and its partners. Of the 3,300 SCC members, roughly 16% are under 40 years of age. Appropriate training and guidance are required to position young professionals to adequately participate in standardization activities and ensure effective succession planning. A national framework offered by SCC in collaboration with partner organizations will provide guidance for the engagement of these future experts to understand and advocate the need for, and benefits of, the standardization system.
