Electronic Logging Devices: New Scheme under the Certification Body Accreditation Program

On June 12, 2019, Transport Canada published changes to the Commercial Vehicle Drivers Hours of Service Regulations. Those changes will require motor carriers and drivers to use certified electronic logging devices (ELDs) to help monitor driver activities and compliance with the new regulations.

SCC has partnered with Transport Canada by providing ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation to conformity assessment bodies who will, in turn, provide certification services for ELD manufacturers and suppliers. If you are a representative of a conformity assessment body interested in ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation in the ELD certification scheme, you are encouraged to contact SCC for more information about the accreditation process.

For more general information about the accreditation process, please visit the Accreditation section .
