Awarded to a professional under age 40 who contributes to and engages with the standardization network. This person has demonstrated exceptional leadership in standardization.

Selection criteria
- under age 40 by the date of the SCC Awards ceremony
- contributed significantly to national or international standardization efforts for at least 2 years
- demonstrated exemplary participation, leadership or technical assistance in the development, promotion or implementation of policies, standards or guides (through certification or accreditation programs)
- other qualities:
- engaged and active participant
- growth and continued progressive responsibilities in their standardization work
- collaborative and team oriented
- demonstrated vision
- strong leadership growth potential
Award submissions and selection process
SCC’s online nomination form is available when applications are open. It will require:
- curriculum vitae (for individual awards) or profile (for organizational or committee awards)
- 2 to 3 letters of recommendation highlighting why the nominee should be selected for the award
examples of how the nominee demonstrates the qualities outlined for the specific award
Our awards committee considers every nomination that is submitted and selects the winners based on a scoring system.
We encourage applications from women, visible minorities, youth and LGBTQ+ communities, and from anyone who is passionate about developing gender responsive standards. If you believe you have the skills to contribute and lead, send us your application.
