About the category
Awarded to a group or organization that made exceptional contributions to standardization activities nationally and internationally. This could be a business, academic institute, non-governmental organization, consumer group or government body (federal, territorial, provincial or municipal).

Selection criteria
- contributed significantly to national or international standardization efforts for at least 5 years
- demonstrated exemplary participation, leadership, technical assistance or financial support in the development, promotion or implementation of policies, standards or guides (through certification or accreditation programs)
- demonstrated a commitment to using standards in its sector
- expanded leadership role within the sector through standardization activities
- supported standardization at multiple levels of management within the organization
- demonstrated active leadership in promoting standards and standardization in its sector
Award submissions and selection process
SCC’s online nomination form is available when applications are open. It will require:
- curriculum vitae (for individual awards) or profile (for organizational or committee awards)
- 2 to 3 letters of recommendation highlighting why the nominee should be selected for the award
examples of how the nominee demonstrates the qualities outlined for the specific award
Our awards committee considers every nomination that is submitted and selects the winners based on a scoring system.
We encourage applications from women, visible minorities, youth and LGBTQ+ communities, and from anyone who is passionate about developing gender responsive standards. If you believe you have the skills to contribute and lead, send us your application.
