SCC Committee Achievement Award

About the category 

Awarded to a committee or standardization group that made significant contributions to support Canada’s national standardization network. This could be an advisory committee, technical committee, sub-committee, working group, task group or ad-hoc group.

2004: CAC/JTC 1/SC 36 – The Canadian Advisory Committee on Information Technology for Learning, Education and Training

Selection criteria 

  • contributed significantly to national or international standardization efforts for at least 5 years
  • demonstrated exceptional success in active national or international participation, leadership or technical assistance in the development or implementation of policies, standards or guides (through certification or accreditation programs)
  • demonstrated development or completion of national or international documents (such as Canadian procedural documents, standards, guides, policies, publications or research reports)
  • other qualities: 
    • teamwork and consensus building
    • productivity and production of deliverables
    • cooperative and inclusive
    • respect of and adherence to established best governance practices and principles

Award submissions and selection process 

SCC’s online nomination form is available when applications are open. It will require:

  • curriculum vitae (for individual awards) or profile (for organizational or committee awards)
  • 1 letter of recommendation highlighting why the nominee should be selected for the SCC Committee Achievement Award
  • examples of how the nominee demonstrates the qualities outlined for the specific award 

     

Our awards committee considers every nomination that is submitted and selects the winners based on a scoring system.


We encourage applications from women, visible minorities, youth and LGBTQ+ communities, and from anyone who is passionate about developing gender responsive standards. If you believe you have the skills to contribute and lead, send us your application.
