Guide for the Investigation of Factory-Built Water Heating Gasification Appliances

1.1 These requirements cover factory-built gasification appliances which incorporate a gasification system to produce hot water for residential, commercial or industrial applications. The gas generated by this process will be combusted internal to the appliance. Burners are required to be equipped with integral automatic primary safety controls to restrict the abnormal flow of gaseous fuel in case of ignition failure and/or flame failure on startup. 1.2 These requirements cover modules and systems with a maximum supply voltage of 600V or less. 1.3 These requirements do not cover products which will supply a gas to a distribution system. 1.4 These appliances are intended to be installed in accordance with CSA B149.1 Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code and CSA B139 Installation code for oil-burning equipment
