Interim Requirements for Pressurized Gas Insulated Switchgear

1.1 This Technical Information Letter contains construction, marking and test requirements for pressurized gas insulated switchgear and shall be used in conjunction with CSA Standard C22.2 No. 31. 1.2 These requirements apply to metal clad, metal enclosed and cubicle switchgear containing pressurized gas as an insulating medium between adjacent phases, phase to ground, phase to enclosure or line to load. 1.3 These requirements apply to full-load interrupter switches employing an inert gas as a means to extinguish arcing between contacts during operation. 1.4 These requirements do not apply, to devices with individual (ie. 1-pole) gas filled contact bottles.
