Interim Energy Efficiency Certification and Verification Requirements for Household Clothes Washers
This Technical Information Letter (T.I.L.) has been prepared to offer an alternative path to calculate modified energy factor (MEF), water consumption factor (WF), total annual energy consumption (E), clothes container capacity (VC) and per cycle electrical energy consumption for removal of moisture (DE) for household clothes washer if manufacturers choose to use the new US DOE test procedure (10 CFR Part 430 Subpart B Appendix J2) instead of CAN/CSA C360-03. Manufacturers have the option of using either the test procedure contained within the CAN/CSA C360-03 or Appendix J2 with an alternative path to calculate MEF, WF, E, VC and DE.
