Interim Energy Efficiency Certification and verification Requirements for Household Refrigerators, Refrigerator-Freezers and Freezers

This Technical Information Letter (T.I.L.) has been prepared to offer an alternative path to calculate annual energy consumption (AEC), adjusted volume (AV) of household refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers and freezers if manufacturers choose to use the new US DOE test procedure (10 CFR Part 430 Subpart B Appendix A and Appendix B) instead of CAN/CSA C300-08. Manufacturers have the option of using either the test procedure contained within the CAN/CSA C300-08 or Appendix A/B with an alternative path to calculate AEC, and AV.
