Bulletin number:
2017-06

Action required

Effective immediately, all laboratories operating in the Mineral Analysis Program Specialty Area must now refer to SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories and cease referring to CAN-P-1579:2014 - Requirements for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories.

Affected customers

This change affects accredited and applicant laboratories operating in the Mineral Analysis Program Specialty Area, as well as SCC assessors performing assessments in this area.

Background

This change was made as part of SCC’s overall QMS modernization project. The content of the requirements have not changed, only the formatting has been harmonized with SCC’s new branding, and the references have been updated.

However, in September 2017, SCC will begin a review and revision of these requirements. More information on this review will be communicated in the coming weeks.

New requirements

  • No changes have been made to the content of the requirements of the document, but the normative references have been updated.

Deadline

As there are no substantive changes to the content, this change is effective immediately. Customers are asked to update their documentation as soon as possible.
