Revision of the SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Labs

Action required

Effective immediately, all SCC stakeholders in the mineral analysis program must take note of the new version of the SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories. For accredited laboratories, they must make any required changes to their internal documentation as soon as possible. These changes will be evaluated at their next on-site assessment.
 

Affected customers

This new document affects accredited and applicant mineral analysis laboratories, as well as assessors in this program.
 

Background

SCC and its stakeholders have completed a review of the SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories. The aim of this review was to bring the document in line with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and to reflect current practises within mineral analysis.
 

New requirements

The significant change to the document is the addition of several requirements related to off-site sampling. Please refer to sections 9.2 and 9.3 of the document for further information.


Deadline

The new version of the document is in effect immediately. If you have any concerns about this timeline, please consult with your Account Manager as soon as possible.
