Background

The Accreditation Program Overview has been revised with the following new or altered material:

• the amount of time allowed for a customer to object to an assessment team member has been revised to reflect current policy and practice;
• the  statement around witness audits for Management Systems certification bodies has been clarified;
• the classification terminology for nonconformities in the laboratory accreditation program have been aligned with the new Guidance document, SCC Guidelines and Procedures for Laboratories with Serious and Critical Nonconformities; and

• Several references to requirements documents have been updated.

   

Please note that the Accreditation Program Overview includes references to several new documents that are not published yet, but will be over the next few weeks. A detailed bulletin will be issued shortly by program explaining the correlation between the old CAN-Ps and the new set of documents as well as providing clarity on any new requirements and compliance timelines.
