Conclusion of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Transition Periods
Action required
All Management Systems Certification Bodies must now cease offering certification to ISO 9001:2008 and/or ISO 14001:2004 under their SCC accreditation.
Affected customers
Accredited management systems certification bodies operating in QMS and EMS.
Background
Effective September 15th, 2018, the transition periods for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 have ended. As such, any certificates issued to the previous versions under the certification body’s SCC accreditation are no longer valid, and shall be withdrawn if not already done.
New requirements
There are no new requirements; however the following amendments will be made to all Management System Accreditation Program scopes of accreditation:
- All references to ISO 9001:2008 will be removed
- All references to ISO 14001:2004 will be removed
- All listings to ISO/IEC TS 17021-2:2012 will be updated to ISO/IEC 17021-2:2016 to reflect the new ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 14001 standards
All listings to ISO/IEC TS 17021-3:2013 will be updated to ISO/IEC 17021-3:2017 to reflect the new ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 9001 standards
