Bulletin 2017-03
Action required
Effective immediately, all Management Systems Certifications Bodies operating in the field of Sustainable Forest management Sector Schemes must cease referring to CAN-P-1517:2013 Appendix H and now refer to SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Management Systems Accreditation Program: Sustainable Forest Management Sector Schemes.
Affected customers
This change affects Management Systems Certifications Bodies operating in the field of Sustainable Forest management Sector Schemes, as well as SCC assessors performing assessments in this area.
Background
This change was made as part of SCC’s overall QMS modernization project. The existing requirements had originally been embedded within the MS Handbook, CAN-P-1517:2013. As that document has been replaced by the SCC Accreditation Services Program Overview, this necessitated extracting the forestry requirements and converting them into a separate document that conforms to SCC’s new QMS structure and formatting.
New requirements
No changes have been made to the content of the requirements of the document, but the requirements have been re-numbered to align them to ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015. As well, the normative references have been updated.
Deadline
As there are no substantive changes to the content, this change is effective immediately. Customers are asked to update their documentation as soon as possible.
