We accredit Standards Development Organizations to create National Standards of Canada catering to industry, government and consumer needs. It is based on the SCC Requirements & Guidance - Accreditation of Standards Development Organizations.
The requirements of this program are aligned with international standards and Canadian principles, ensuring that equal access and effective participation by concerned parties are prioritized. Respect for diverse interests, along with a commitment to openness and transparency, are fundamental aspects guiding the standards development processes. The program operates with the best interest of Canadians in mind, aiming to avoid duplication or overlap with the work of other Standards Development Organizations.
This SCC accreditation signals that an organization is qualified to develop, publish and maintain National Standards of Canada, National Adoptions of Canada and Consensus Standards Development Organization Standards.
