Pierre Bilodeau

Pierre Bilodeau joined SCC in 2021 as Vice-President, Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement. Mr. Bilodeau brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to SCC. He has over 20 years of experience in managing science and technology partnerships, strategic policy, program delivery, and research and development activities.

Before joining SCC, Mr. Bilodeau served as Executive Director, Science Branch at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. In this capacity, he was responsible for plant health science leadership in protecting Canada’s plant resource base. He previously served in various leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer at International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada. Mr. Bilodeau worked as Director, Research Partnerships, Research Grants and Scholarships at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). He was also the Prototype Research Manager at Medicago, a Canadian pioneer and world leader in developing plant-based vaccines and therapeutics.

 
Mr. Bilodeau was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to attend the Australian National University for his PhD in plant sciences. He holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Biochemistry from Université Laval.
