Melanie Travers

Vice-President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer

Melanie Travers was appointed Vice-President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer in September 2024. She is responsible for SCC's information technology, information management, corporate planning, risk management, finance operations, accounting, financial reporting, financial planning / budgeting / forecasting, travel, procurement and facilities functions. With over 25 years of experience in financial management and management consulting in both public and private sectors, Ms. Travers brings expertise and experience in implementing large and medium scale Finance and Procurement operating model transformations, leveraging data and technology to create efficiencies and support decision-making, strategic and business planning, performance and risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
 

Prior to joining SCC, Ms. Travers spent 5 years at Export Development Canada where she was responsible for the Procurement, Vendor Management, Finance Operations and Corporate Banking functions. Previous to this, Ms. Travers spent 8 years at Deloitte in their Finance Consulting practice, where she led numerous engagements for clients to enhance the efficiency of their Finance and Procurement operating models, achieve cost savings, implement budgeting and costing exercises, and design and implement shared service centres. She also held positions in finance consulting and financial management at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Consulting and National Bank of Canada.
 

Ms. Travers holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. She holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with CPA Ontario.
