Christine List

Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary

Christine List joined SCC in March 2020 as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel. Ms. List supports SCC’s Governing Council and senior management; she acts as the principal liaison between both groups. She is responsible for SCC’s legal matters and provides expertise and direction in corporate governance practices.

Ms. List has over 20 years of public sector legal experience. Prior to joining SCC, she spent 2 years at the Royal Canadian Mint as Assistant Corporate Secretary, where she led the corporate secretariat team and reviewed the corporation’s governance framework. Ms. List spent over 10 years at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, serving for 4 years as Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Ms. List holds a Bachelor of Social Science with Honours in Political Science and a Bachelor of Law, both from the University of Ottawa. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
