Leather — Chemical tests — Determination of formaldehyde content
ISO/TS 17226:2003 specifies two methods for the determination of free and released formaldehyde in leathers. One method is relatively simple with regard to the laboratory equipment (colorimetric method), while the other needs more sophisticated equipment (HPLC method). The HPLC method is selective and not sensitive to coloured extracts.
Methods for the calibration of vibration and shock transducers — Part 21: Vibration calibration by c...
ISO 16063-21:2003 describes the calibration of rectilinear vibration transducers by comparison. Although it mainly describes calibration using direct comparison to a standard calibrated by primary methods, the methods described can be applied between other levels in the calibration hierarchy.
ISO 16063-21:2003 specifies procedures for performing calibrations of rectilinear vibration transducers…
Practice for characterization and performance of a high-dose radiation dosimetry calibration laborat...
ISO/ASTM 51400:2003 addresses the specific requirements for laboratories engaged in dosimetry calibrations involving ionizing radiation, namely, gamma-radiation, electron beams or X-radiation (bremsstrahlung) beams. It specifically describes the requirements for the characterization and performance criteria to be met by a high-dose radiation dosimetry calibration laboratory.
Fire hazard testing - Part 11-20: Test flames - 500 W flame test methods
Specifies a small-scale laboratory screening procedure for comparing the relative burning behaviour of specimens made from plastics and other non-metallic materials, as well as their resistance to burn-through when exposed to a flame ignition source of 500 W nominal power. This method is applicable to both solid materials and cellular plastic materials having an apparent density of 250 kg/m3 or…
Fire hazard testing - Part 11-10: Test flames - 50 W horizontal and vertical flame test methods
Specifies a small-scale laboratory screening procedure for comparing the relative burning behaviour of vertically or horizontally oriented specimens made from plastic and other non-metallic materials, exposed to a small-flame ignition source of 50 W nominal power. These test methods determine the linear burning rate and the afterflame/afterglow times, as well as the damaged length of specimens.…
Thermal spraying — Characterization and testing of thermally sprayed coatings
ISO 14923:2003 specifies an overview of the characteristics of coatings produced by thermal spraying.
It is not possible in ISO 14923:2003 to go into details regarding the different types of coatings and large numbers of coatings due to the fact that all meltable materials can be processed by thermal spraying and that so many and varied thermal spraying processes exist. The tests described are…
Guidance on the measurement of wettability of insulator surfaces
The methods described in this technical specification can be used for the measurement of the wettability of the shed and housing material of composite insulators for overhead lines, substations and equipment or ceramic insulators covered or not covered by a coating. The obtained value represents the wettability at the time of the measurement. The determination of the ability of water to wet the…
