This National Standard of Canada is identical in content and in layout with International Standard ISO 8402-l986, Quality - Vocabulary. It defines the basic and fundamental terms relating to quality concepts, as they apply to products and services, for the preparation and use of quality standards and for mutual understanding in international communications.

Applicable to naturally cooled dry-type power transformers complying with IEC 60726. Permits the calculation of, and indicates the permissible loading under certain defined conditions in terms of rated current.

Provides fundamental definitions for general use in time domain pulse technology. It defines terms for pulse phenomena and characteristics which are prerequisite for efficient communication of technical information. It also defines terms for standards for methods of pulse characteristics measurement, for pulse apparatus, and for apparatus which employ pulse techniques.

Defines limiting severities of solar radiation to which products are liable to be exposed during transportation, storage and use.

Defines the methods by which the sound levels of transformers, reactors and their associated cooling equipment shall be determined so that compliance with any specification requirements may be confirmed and the characteristic of noise emitted in service determined.

Defines the actions due to the self-weight of structures, non-structural elements and stored materials and gives the numerical values of their densities. These actions are to be determined by multiplying the densities by the gravitational acceleration and by the actual volume. The actions caused by the weight of the earth placed on the structures are similarly calculated.

Specifies dimensional requirements necessary for the mounting of injection nozzle holders in diesel engines. The location of the fuel inlet and leak-off connections are not defined since they vary according to the particular application. A figure illustrates the shape and reference quantities of concern.
